Cober acclaimed to second term on council Councillor Bill Cober won't have to be hammering in election signs on his neighbours' lawns, handing out campaign material or ringing doorbells in the next couple of weeks, at least not his own behalf. Cober has been returned to his second term as Ward 4 representative in King by acclamation. Although there had been little indication that someone was prepared to challenge him for the seat, Cober said he was ready to mount a campaign. "The horse certainly was ready to go," he declared, adding he felt "humbled, thrilled and honoured" to have been acclaimed. Cober added he's not going to be taking the campaign off completely. He plans to get out and urge his constituents to cast a vote for mayor in the Nov. 13 election. "There are still decisions to be made on their behalf," he commented, adding the input of residents is important. |
