Attempt at setting a record
About a dozen participants were ready to start their walk at the King City Trail Saturday, one of two locations in the township involved in the Ontario-wide effort by the Ministry of Health Promotion, Parks and Recreation Ontario and the Ontario Trails Council to set a world record for the most people simultaneously taking part in a one-kilometre hike. Mayor Margaret Black and Councillor Steve Pellegrini were among those taking part. As of press time, there was no word on whether the record was set.
