Corn roast planned to start fall season at King City Seniors' Centre
King City Senior's Centre. Submitted by Hans Nielsen

To get a good start on the social events in the new season at the centre, a corn roast has been planed for Sept. 15 at noon.

The centre is located at 30 Fisher St. and new members are most welcome.

The centre will supply the corn, hot dogs, coffee or tea, and you are asked to bring a salad or a dessert. A movie will round out the afternoon.

So come out for a good get-together and a social afternoon with friends, reminisce about the summer past and, maybe, meet new friends.

The King City 39ers drop-in group will start the new season this Monday (Sept. 18) at 1:30 p.m. The guest speaker is to be Constable Kim Majlik of York Regional Police, who will talk about crime prevention in relation to seniors. All are welcome.

The 39ers meet every third Monday of the month in the centre.

St. Andrew's

Presbyterian Church

It was wonderful to see so many at St. Andrew's welcome back barbecue Saturday evening.

The rain stopped and the sun came out just in time.

Our pastor, Rev. Chris Carter, has started a new sermon series, entitled What is the Church?

Our Sunday worship services are at 10:30 a.m. Hope you can join us and stay for coffee afterwards. Sunday school and nursery services are provided during the service time. All committees are scheduled to meet this month. Please check the church calendar.

For more information or if a ride is needed, please call the church office at (905) 833-2325
