Mayor defended The following letter is in response to a letter from Mike Shackleford, which appeared in the Aug. 16 edition of the Sentinel. Hold on for a minute, Mr. Shackleford! I have known Margaret Black personally since grade school. We were both fortunate enough to be raised on King Township farms not far from each other. For many years, we rode on the same school bus to Kettleby Public School and high school in Aurora. We also both left King Township to go to university and begin our careers, but we returned at the same time to raise our families and continue our careers in a place where our hearts remained. Since I have known Margaret almost all of her life, including her professional and political career, I can truthfully say that I have always found her to be totally honest and fair, have a deep respect for the democratic process and, above all, to act with complete integrity. I know how passionately she cares about King Township and its residents and has done everything she can for the benefit of King City in a most difficult situation. I had hoped that in King we were above this type of personal attack on character that has been made in your letter. We all need to work together with the same positive goals and not get sidetracked by personal vendettas. Patricia Koblizek, King City |
