Region supports Vaughan's call for federal funding of subway extension

York Regional council recently voted to support a resolution from the City of Vaughan encouraging the federal government to support the Spadina subway extension.

The resolution calls on Ottawa to work in partnership with the province to confirm that federal funding is available for this transit project. Queen's Park has pledged

one-third funding for the $1.5 billion expansion of the subway system, contingent on one-third funding from the feds and one-third funding from York and the City of Toronto.
