King putting forth its best for the Communities in Bloom judging

Patty Fleetwood was doing some touch-up painting on some of the urns in Nobleton Monday.

The judging started yesterday (Tuesday) and continues today as two representatives from the national Communities in Bloom competition are touring King Township.

Their itinerary will be taking them all over the municipality, from Laskay to King City, the Holland Marsh, Nobleton, Lloydtown, Schomberg, Kettleby and Pottageville.

King is among 12 communities with a population between 10,000 and 20,000 competing. The Township is up against the likes of Cold Lake, Alberta; Pembroke; Gravenhurst; Miramichi, New Brunswick; and Summerside, Prince Edward Island.

King Township staff have been helping out with keeping things green and beautiful. Tara Magee of the parks and recreation department was watering some of the planters Friday. Maureen Richardson was attacking some of the weeds on Highway 27 in Nobleton last week.
