The ugly, the bad and the good
Ugly is the appearance of many of our roadsides and car parks, as the litter and garbage problem escalates in King.
Bad is the behaviour of the mental midgets that feel it is okay to dump their waste and litter, thus causing a deterioration in the
quality of our natural environment which must support us all. The volume of reusable and recyclable materials being ejected from vehicles, in addition to the garbage and construction waste (including hazardous waste) being dumped in our township, is appalling.
Good is the effort put forward by those individuals who participated in cleanups.
I would like to thank all those people who came out April 22 and 29 to clean up the car parks as part of the War Against Litter in King (WALK) initiative. I was impressed by the two dozen participants who came out April 29, at least a quarter of whom were students from St. Thomas of Villanova High School.
The fall campaign for WALK will likely be the two Saturdays following Thanksgiving in October. If you could give my wife and myself a hand in contacting people, we would appreciate it.
